Company Background: Mecopol Construction (Pty) Ltd.
Established in 2005, Mecopol Construction has emerged as a leading provider of electrical and civil infrastructure solutions in South Africa. The company’s journey began as a Close Corporation, specializing in Mining Infrastructure and Electrical Infrastructure projects. With a CIDB Rating of 4 and a B-BBEE Level 1 contributor status, Mecopol quickly gained recognition for its expertise and commitment to quality.
In 2020, Mecopol Construction underwent a significant transformation. The company was acquired by new Directors who implemented a new Management Structure and embarked on a series of strategic initiatives.
These initiatives included:
- Converting the Close Corporation into a (Pty) Ltd.
- Achieving a B-BBEE Level 1 Contributor status
- Expanding the company’s focus to include the open market, including Eskom
- Establishing a new Head Office in Jet Park, Boksburg, Gauteng
- Improving the company’s CIDB rating to a level 8EP
- Implementing a new Payroll system
- Implementing a Business Management System (BMS) in line with ISO requirements
- Implementing a new accounting and Financial Management system
- Establishing strong relationships with major material and equipment suppliers
These strategic changes propelled Mecopol Construction into a new era of growth and success. The company’s expertise expanded to encompass underground and above-ground cable installations, overhead lines up to 132kV, Substation installations, and electrical and industrial infrastructure installations. With a combined construction experience of over 20 decades, Mecopol’s management team continues to lead the company towards excellence.
